Anti - Wrinkle Treatment.
Dysport® is a Botulinum Toxin Type A that is very similar to Botox®.
They are both registered in New Zealand for the treatment of facial wrinkles.
At Face Doctors, we stock both products and discuss the differences between each with you at your consultation. We have generally found Dysport® to produce superior results to Botox®, especially in terms of on-set of action – it works faster! For this reason, Dysport® is our preferred Botulinum toxin (Type A).

Benefits
The evolution and exponential growth of non surgical cosmetic procedures such as Botox®, Dysport® and Dermal Filler treatments has been capturing the attention of many who want to share in the benefits of looking and feeling good about themselves.
At Face Doctors we have credentialed cosmetic physicians that offer cosmetic treatments for the softening of facial frown, forehead and crows lines using the muscle relaxants Botox® and Dysport®. We can also lift the mid face, strengthen the cheeks, jaw lines, and marionettes with approved Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers using modern injecting techniques.
Remember it's absolutely essential for you to still look like you, therefore the placement of Botox®, Dysport® or Dermal Filler for facial enhancement requires an eye for the aesthetics including an intimate knowledge of facial muscle structure, form and function, as well as nerve and vascular or blood vessel distribution.
The fundamental understanding of these factors provides the assurance that collectively we are striving for the best results in terms of aesthetic outcomes and an improved safety profile for you.

What is a Dysport® injection?
Dysport® is an injection containing abobotulinumtoxinA (Botulinum toxin type A). Botulinum toxin blocks nerve activity in the muscles, causing a temporary reduction in muscle activity.
What that means is that Dysport® like Botox is a muscle relaxant, that blocks nerve conduction, when this happens muscles stop contracting, if the muscles stops contracting, then the skin overlying the muscles stop creasing and wrinkles are reduced, done often enough and over a period of times, deep wrinkles can often be removed. The aim is to freshen up and rejuvenate ones appearance with this type of treatment.

Does it work immediately after one treatment?
Yes but it may take 3-7 days for the effect to occur. The treatment lasts 3-4 months and then needs to be repeated. Over time as the wrinkles lessen, then the amount of Dysport® may be reduced or the time between treatments may be extended because the wrinkles have reduced or faded.

Scientically Proven & Preferred
According to the research, around two thirds of patients that were treated with both products preferred Dyport® (in what’s called a ‘split-face trial’ meaning one side of the face injected with Botox® and the other Dysport®).
