Photo-Rejuvenation Start

Firstly a cold gel is applied to the area to be treated, and you will need to wear dark glasses to protect your eyes from the bright light.  The smooth glass like surface of the IPL handpiece is gently held up to your skin and pulses of light are applied.

Intense Pulsed Light & Treatment Mechanism

Here at Face Doctors we are able to offer the most advanced IPL machine technology proven to treat pigmentation, rosacea, redness and broken capillaries from one advanced platform.  A special range of wavelengths of light in customizable pulses through a hand piece which is applied to your skin.

The light is absorbed either superficially by broken dark pigment or capillaries or deeper by larger vessels and collagen.   Pigment lesions darken and then slough off and new collagen fibers are laid down, giving the skin a renewed and more youthful appearance. Rosacea and broken capillaries are also shattered by IPL and the result is a rejuvenated, smoother, more youthful appearance.

IPL Side Effects

You may experience some slight reddening or local swelling at the treatment site, but this typically goes away within hours.  On occasion, some blistering or bruising may occur, but typically resolves quickly. Burns may occur if your treatment isn’t calibrated correctly to your skin type, we ensure that this is done at every treatment.  Also, the skin can become darker or lighter following treatment, but will generally return to normal within a few weeks.  Limiting sun exposure before and after will minimize the risk of complications.  Following the treatment, you can generally return to work and resume most regular activities immediately, although spray tanning, swimming, or working out is not recommended for the next 24 hours.

We have the latest equipment, maintain the highest standards, and make your comfort and privacy our highest priority. Our clients receive the best possible outcomes in the safest and most beautiful of environments.
