To create a feminine face there are a number of considerations. Firstly observe the facial shape as a whole. The female face often involves smooth heart shaped curves rather than the angular features of the male, which are also more square and chiseled. The overall object is to create a rejuvenated, fresh look, without looking ‘done’. 

To feminize, a softer smaller chin can be created and then accentuated by reducing the masseter or jaw muscles, with the use of Botulinum Toxin (this is an off label use). The use of Botulinum Toxin in this fashion is known as ‘facial slimming’ and gives the illusion of a narrowed jawline, compared to men who traditionally have a wide square anterior positioned jaw. ​

Mid-Face Dermal Filler treatments raise the mid-face giving height to the cheek region that can create the ‘Nike tick’ for that well positioned light to bounce off. 
Other Mid-Face and Lower-Face Dermal Filler treatments include smoothing deep nasolabial folds, reducing eye hollowing and supporting the marionettes. 

Realignment of all of these areas helps create “feminine” contours. This is especially true when considered in combination with jawline and chin treatments.

Of course to complete this MTF transformation lip fillers are required for a fuller, more feminine lip shape. Botulinum toxin treatments are of course an important tool in helping transgender patients reach their goals.  To feminize, Botulinum Toxin can be used to smooth and lighten a heavy brow. Men tend to have a straight thickened heavy brow. Treating this area raises the eyebrow into a beautiful arch, reducing the heaviness of the eyelids. Open eyes are seen as a friendly welcoming feature, in addition the lateral brow can be lifted further to augment the result.  Botulinum Toxin can also be used to reduce crows feet lines and smooth forehead lines. ​

Once the face has been reshaped attention then turns to addressing the canvas, or the skin of the face and neck area.
